How-To Brew: Pour-Over Pouch

Making Vietnamese coffee with Daybreak pour-over pouch

What you’ll need:

🔘 DAYBREAK pour-over pouch

🔘 Boiling water

🔘 cup/mug

🔘 condensed milk (optional)

Our medium roast pour over pouches are intended to drink as a black coffee, while our dark roast pour over pouches are intended to have with condensed milk.

For the purpose of this video, we will use the dark roast to replicate the same flavor that you all love in our bottled cà phê sữa đá!

Our boxes contain 7 disposable pouches and each pouch already has pre-measured and pre-ground coffee inside.

The first step is to tear open the top of the pouch and gently shake it to level out the coffee inside.

Next, just pull the wings apart and hang over your cup.

Now add water that’s just under boiling. Initially, we're just going to soak the pouch about halfway up to bloom the beans for about 30 seconds.

After the 30 seconds, we're going to fill the pouch all the way to the top with water. This will be our first full pour.

We’ll repeat this two to three times for a strong concentrated brew, just like a traditional Vietnamese coffee is made with a phin filter.

Once you’ve let each pour drip through, you can add ice and condensed milk (as much or little as you’d like, we won’t judge!) to make a quick and easy version of cà phê sữa đá. Enjoy!
